The Emir of Jama’a in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Dr. Muhammadu Isah Muhammadu has cautioned his people against flaunting the directive of Government to remain indoors, as the fight against further spread of COVID-19 intensifies.
Addressing Imams and Ulamas as well as Security Operatives within his domain at his Palace in Kafanchan, the Emir called on the people to also observe the guidelines given by government to stem the problem.
Dr. Muhammadu who commended Governments at all levels for the measures put in place to contain the virus said the people have the responsibility to rally around government as the virus has no respect for religion, status or age.
He explained that the essence of convening the meeting was to solicit the support of all towards the fight against COVID 19, adding that his council is in support of the measures so far put in place.
The Emir has tasked the people to always observe the social distancing rule when they go the market during the window days given by government and to always practice personal hygiene.
He warned that for now places of worship should remain close as directed by Government as security operatives have been given the node to deal with anyone found disregarding the directive.
In his remark, the Kafanchan Area Commandant of the Nigerian Police, ACP Danladi Ibrahim, commended the Emir for sensitizing his people on the dangers of the Virus and appealed to them not to overstretch the police to the extent that they will resort to use of force to ensure compliance.
