The Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has called on parents of the abducted Dapchi school girls to give them useful information that could help in the rescue of their daughters.

The commandant general, who disclosed this when he visited the school following the directive by the federal government to relocate to the area called for calm,assuring them of adequate security in the area.

He also commiserated with families and friends as well as the good people of Dapchi community, calling for increased vigilance among the populace in the fight against terrorism.

In a related development, the state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has also assured the security operatives in Yobe state that, the state government will give them every support, cooperation and assistance towards ensuring successful discharge of their assignment in the state.

According to him, “ in the final analysis, what all the parents require is to see their beloved daughters in their houses in good health. We therefore pray that all the efforts being made will lead to the achievement of this work”, Gaidam said.

Gaidam also appealed to the federal government to come up with a comprehensive strategy of mopping up remnants of the insurgents in all their hideouts within and outside the state.

He added that, “ this will enable the officers and men of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air force and other security operatives cover all the local government areas particularly the vulnerable areas in Yobe state,” he said.

He commended the federal government for providing security to all the schools in the state,saying this has been complied with.
