He presented the model during the second Mike Adenuga (Jr.) The Entrepreneurial Studies Annual Lecture, “Navigating the present stormy Nigerian Economy: The New Enterprise Nigeria as the Anchorage,” was held at the University of Lagos. He said the NEN intervention is the most feasible route to resuscitate the nation’s economy and lead to long-term growth.

Professor Adebisi said the “New Enterprise Nigeria” (NEN) model is anchored on transparency and accountability.

He added that it includes fit-for-all-purpose Infrastructure projects, integration of all Ministries’ activities in synchronisation with Nigerian needs, a 25-year food security plan, a stop-borrowing and push-for-debt-rescheduling plan, and digitalisation of Bureau—De –Change transactions in Nigeria that will help revitalise the nation’s economy.

The university also added other components of NEN, including “Aggressive Job creation through enterprise and startups, creations and investment into innovation drivers, subsidy removal management, combating inflation, politicopreneurship, Acada-solution consortium, Intentional and Continuous youth re-orientation as well as wealth creation opportunity.”

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dr Adenuga Professorial Chair, Professor Taiwo Osipitan, stated that the lecture aims to enlighten Nigerians on solving the nation’s economic problems and creating gainful employment. Established in 2008, the Mike Adenuga Professorial Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies promotes entrepreneurship research, knowledge, and practice as well as enterprise creation in Nigeria.
