Frontline Youth Activist and President, Godsent Foundation, Wednesday denounced his membership of Benin Solidarity Movement, BSM, a social cultural Organization based in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.
It would be recalled that Benin Solidarity Movement which has been in the struggle for the rights of Edo Youths had been embroiled in legal tussle with the state government who had alleged the body of recruiting militias to unleash mayhem in the state.
However, Ambassador Dion Osagie, in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City, while citing reasons for his withdrawal of his memberships described the body as a peace movement explained that he joined the group because of its mission statement.
He said “I joined the group because, I was moved about the objective in seeking a better day for our people and creating jobs for the youths. I appreciate the founders and organizers of the group for standing tall to make a change. I hope that more people can speak up about the ills in our community.
“It saddens my heart that as of today, I hereby renounced my membership in the Benin solidarity movement (BSM). I am moved to cancel the membership due to the fact that I can no longer be available for meetings owing to my busy schedule in matters where I am most needed. Notwithstanding, I still remain a friend to all the members of the movement. He added.
Meanwhile, mixed reaction trailed his denouncement of the group, while others applauded his decision; others however expressed shock by the statement.
