Egypt’s Parliament Approves Distance Education Deal With China

Egypt’s House of Representatives approved a cooperation agreement signed by the Egyptian and Chinese governments to develop the distance education system, state-run Ahram newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The deal, worth 79 million Chinese yuan ($11.5 million), includes improving the electronic devices used in applying the system and replacing old educational tools.

The report added that it will also provide some 57 sites with the latest technological equipment.

The deal aimed at boosting cooperation between the two countries in the field of distance education in the light of the strategic ties between Egypt and China, which was signed in October 2018.
