Family of Precious David, has raised the alarm after she was declared missing following attack and burning down of their Church by gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents in Ganjuwa village of Bauchi State.
Briefing journalists in Abuja, James David, who spoke on behalf of the family said, “The incident occurred when the insurgents stormed a remote village of Ganjuwa, a border community with Jigawa State from the North and Gombe State from the Southeast on Tuesday morning, around 3am; shooting sporadically as many were hit by gunshots.
“They looted and carted away food stuffs before razing down the village, as residents fled into bushes for safety,” he said.
He further noted that “Boko Haram insurgent launched attack and burnt down my father’s Church in Ganjuwa village on the 11th October 2010, I’m still looking for my beloved sister, Precious David.
He also disclosed that the attackers said, “All Christians are infidels and they must die unless the renounce their faith and be converted to Islam, this is also the case with Leah Sharibu, who Boko Haram abducted with other Chibok school girls and they have refused to release her because she did not denounce her Christian faith.”
He appealed to Nigerian government and religious leaders to speedily intervene to save Precious David and others who are in Boko Haram captives.
