Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, has charged retired senior military officers in the Southeast zone to bring their experience to bear as the country combats criminality.
The CDS made this call while speaking at a security meeting with the ex-military officers in Owerri yesterday.
He enjoined the officers to proffer solutions to security challenges in the Southeast and Nigeria at large while commending them for attending the meeting.
Irabor also charged Nigerians to desist from using violence as a tool to pursue political objectives, stressing that the Nation’s security personnel will not tolerate any form of violent conduct in whatever guise.
In his welcome address, the General Officer Commanding, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, described the retired officers as key stakeholders in the security outfit.
In a remark, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, commended the Department of Civil Military Cooperation for sustaining its foundational legacies.
