It was gathered that the attack was as a result of the arrest of more than 10 Fulani herdsmen for allegedly being in possession of harmful objects at a nearby local market trying to run away from being taken to police custody in Otu.

It was also learnt that the police officers, who were fewer in number, were attacked with clubs and chased away with machetes by the suspected  herders.

The injured officers were Fashe Abdul (DCO, Otu) a superintendent of police, Inspector Orodele Segun (SO) and Corporal Akinbode Tolulope

Sources said the police officers are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Otu.
