American investor, businessman, author, financial commentator and motivational speaker is reportedly worth over 100 million dollars. He is the famed author of the popular bestseller inspirational book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. With his books, he has inspired thousands of young men in the world. And one of them is a Nigerian businessman, Best Nnadozie Okereke who sits atop an empire known as Goodey Best Group.
Best Okereke never felt comfortable working 9-5 jobs. He wanted to be responsible for his life, and he found solace in the books, teachings and principles of Robert Kiyosaki. He said this was the wings beneath his wings as a young man.
Quoting some of Kiyosaki’s famous quotes, Okereke explained how they impacted on his life. The quote; “The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way” actually shaped Okereke’s outlook on life. He wanted to read law and actually got admitted into Anambra State University but later changed his mind because his yearnings were of outdoor lifestyle. So, he dumped Law and went for Mass Communications. He graduated from the university with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.
“I needed to study a course that would go inline with my passion while accommodating my love for extra curricular activities,” he recalled.
Following one of Kiyosaki’s principles yet again, that “Academic qualifications are important and so is financial education. They’re both important and schools are forgetting one of them” Okereke did not believe in his university certificate, he embraced the power of intuition and vision. When he left university he had a brief stint working under Barr. Kingsley Ezekwelu, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obianor on media. Later he was attached to the office of the Vice Chancellor; PRO department as an online editor. But that was it. He moved in with his father to run a company that was into renewable energy, Goodey Best Multi-Biz Limited.
He had joked, “ Aside from the regular University, I attended University of Google and YouTube. Those are the best universities in the world. Working for people played its role in my life too, but I knew I did not belong there. I read a lot of books by Robert Kiyosaki. Meanwhile, I built a lot of network while I was in school. It helped a lot in marketing me.
In 2020 Best Okereke expanded his business by investing in farming. For this purpose, Goodey Best Farms Limited was incorporated.
“I went into farming to raise capital actually. At that time there was so much profit cultivating cucumber. Along the line I fell in love with it. The experience has been good. Pig farming too is one of the most lucrative livestock farmings. A friend of mine, Mr. Stanley Mmaduagwu talked me into building an interest in farming. It has been worth it,” he said.
Best Nnadozie Okereke runs Goodey Best group from Ukwulu Anambda State with offices in Anambra and Enugu.
Best Nnadozie Okereke is an Igbo businessman and entrepreneur, from Okigwe local government area of Imo State. He is alumnus of Anambra State University (now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University) Igbariam Campus.
