Lagos State government’s delegation and colleagues of a departed Nollywood actress, Rachael Oniga, have paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased in Lagos on Tuesday.
The delegation who visited the home of Oniga in Magodo area, was led by the State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism and a Lagos Assembly member, Hon. Desmond Elliot.
Some celebrities like movie producer, Zeb Ejiro and COSON boss, Tony Okoroji were also seen writing their condolence messages.
The delegation were received by late Oniga’s three children: Olamiji, Fatima and Olatunji and other family members.
In her remarks, the commissioner spoke highly of the deceased and her contribution to the entertainment and tourism industry in Nigeria and Lagos State in particular.
Mrs. Akinbile-Yussuf noted that late Oniga was a huge inspiration to millions of people in the society, hence she condoled with the entire family and Nollywood in general, while she prayed for a fortitude for the family to bear the loss.
LEADERSHIP reports that veteran actress, Racheal Oniga, died on Friday, July 30, 2021, leaving the nollywood industry in a sober and mournful state. She died of a heart related condition at the age of 64.
