No fewer than 150 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) , and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have been trained on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The four – day training, which was done in partnership with the UNDP, on September 21 – 24 at the National headquarter of the Corps, in Abuja, also seeks to promote inter-agency cooperation and collaboration , especially in times of conflicts.
The Corps commandant -general, Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana, who spoke at the event said the training is aimed at strengthening the capacity of peace officers.
The CG who was represented by ACG Kelechi Madu, said explained the optimism that the training will further assist officers perform the task of conflict prevention, management and local community peace building.
He said: “NSCDC Peace department has between 2013 and now successfully resolved over 50,000 civil disputes using ADR methodology.
