The charity activities of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) community have attracted growing local and international attention following the rollout of a ₦1 billion business grants initiative and a series of humanitarian interventions across Nigeria.
Earlier this year, KPMG announced the selection of 240 beneficiaries for the Jerry Eze Foundation Business Grant, valued at $720,000 (over ₦1 billion). The initiative aims to support entrepreneurs and small business owners with funding to expand their ventures.
In a related development, the foundation established the El Roi Orphanage Home in Umuahia, Abia State.
Speaking during its inauguration, Jerry Eze emphasised that every child deserved proper care and guidance from parents, guardians, and society. He noted that the orphanage forms part of broader efforts to support vulnerable children.
The heightened attention also followed sustained outreach by the NSPPD community, including housing support, financial assistance to widows, and the distribution of million-naira grants to individuals.
Clips circulating on social media platform X have showcased various outreach efforts, further boosting the visibility of the initiative. The videos capture beneficiaries receiving support ranging from shelter to direct financial aid, sparking widespread reactions online.
International media platform IAM News has also highlighted the development, describing the scale of the philanthropic efforts as “uncontainable” while noting the expanding reach of the foundation.
Observers say the increasing global spotlight reflects a growing interest in faith-based humanitarian interventions, especially in regions facing economic challenges. While supporters have praised the initiative for addressing urgent social needs, some analysts have called for greater transparency and sustainability in large-scale charitable programmes.
The NSPPD platform, which commands a significant online following, continued to serve as a mobilising base for the outreach, with organisers indicating that more interventions are expected in the coming months.
