PDP Wins House of Reps seat for Akwanga/ Eggon/Wamba

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, declared Mr Abdulkarim Usman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency seat in Nasarawa State.

 

Dr Sambo Mohammed, the INEC Returning Officer for the Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency election made the declaration at the Collation Centre in Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government area of the state.

He said the PDP candidate pulled 57, 322 votes to beat his closest rival, Dr Mohammed Yau of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who scored 40, 848 votes in Saturday’s National Assembly election.

Mr Makpa Malla of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party, came third with 22, 434 votes.

 

Mohammed said that Usman, having scored the highest votes at the election was returned as winner of the National Assembly election for the Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.

 

“Abdulkarim Usman of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scoring the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” Mohammed said.

 

Speaking with journalists, Usman expressed gratitude to God for his electoral victory.

 

He also thanked voters for showing faith in him by voting him to represent them at the House of Representatives, assuring that he would not disappoint them.(NAN)
