The Adamawa state police command has nabbed seven robbery suspects and recovered three motorcycles, two denguns and military uniforms.
DSP Sulaiman Yahaya, the command’s PPRO, in a statement issued Tuesday said, operatives attached to Girei and Ganye divisions in collaboration with Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARs) arrested the gang that attacked and robbed three commercial motorcyclists in Girei , Ganye and Mayo – Belwa LGAs of the state.
According to him, the gang also inflicted on their victims severe injuries and carted away their motorcycles.
Investigation reveals that one Kabiru Muhammad 23 years, Idris Salihu 42years, Friday Elkanai 23 years, residents of Wuro – Hausa Lamurde and Dikong in Mayo – Belwa LG are members of Hunters Association eventually betrayed the trust entrusted in them by members of the public.
“On the 27/9/2020 following a credible information, the gallant men of the command attached to special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrest Sadiq Abdullahi 20years, Awal BakariI 23years, Aminu Gidado 23years and Aliyu Abubakar 25years all residents of Mayo Belwa local government and recovers , two Denguns, four Cutlasses, three knives, a set of military uniform and four pairs of dessert Boots.”
The command while ensuring that the victims got proper medical attention and recovered their stolen motorcycles, enjoins residents to report any suspicious persons around their neighbourhoods to the nearest Police Division or report same through any of the Police Command Control/Emergency numbers the statement explained.
