The #BringBackOurGirls group (BBOG) has lamented that it had to celebrate yet another Sallah without the 218 Chibok Girls, who were abducted by the Boko Haram sect, April 14, 2014.
Speaking during the daily sit-out of the group, one of the members of the group, Abubakar Yusuf stated that it was unfortunate that Sallah after Sallah, celebrations after since the abduction, the whereabouts of the girls were still unknown.
He called on the government to act and fast and bring about the return of the girls whose families have not given up hope of beholding, even after two years.
The group expressed disappointment over the hostility of government to the group especially these past week.
It wondered what has gone wrong between the government and the group as it was the same people that had hailed the advocacy of the group for the Chibok girls when they were outside the government adding that when they were inside the government, they turn hostile on the group.
The group reiterated that it was government neutral adding that it was the responsibility of government to rescue the government which the group will continue to remind them, no matter the obstacles.
It reminded President Muhammadu Buhari to remember his pledged that the fight against Boko Haram will not assume to be won until the girls were rescued and returned to their families, urging him to fufil his promise.
The group added that it will continue on its advocacy for the 218 Chibok girls until the girls were accounted for as it was the promised it had made and would not relent until it is fufilled.
