A fire yesterday engulfed the Yar-Dole motorcycle market in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
The fire which broke out in the evening left traders and residents devastated as several shops and stalls burned uncontrollably.

Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly through the market popular for motorcycle and spare parts.

“We don’t know the cause of the fire, we just notice flame from the motorcycle shops, but the fire service is still battling to put it out,” an eyewitness told Channels Television.

At the scene, many of the traders and shop owners could be seen frantically attempting to salvage their goods but they could not succeed due to the rage of the fire.
