Residents Flee As Soldiers Search For Missing Rifles, Commander

Many residents of Rundle community in Emohua local government area of Rivers State have fled the community following alleged invasion of the area by soldiers who are searching for two missing rifles and a commander of a local vigilante group.

It was gathered that vigilante commander, who identity could not be immediately ascertained, had attacked soldiers guarding an oil facility in the community and carted away their two rifles.

A native of the community, who spoke under on the condition of anonymity, said many residents were in the bush as at Sunday afternoon looking for a way to go out from the community.
