At least one person was killed and two others were abducted at late hours of Friday by bandits who raided Kajuru community of Kaduna State.

The Member representing Kajuru local government constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Usman Danlami Stingos, confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP on Saturday.

“Just yesterday one Ishaya Soda was killed by bandits at Ungwa Barde, and he was buried today at Dutse Gaya.

“On February 21, 2025, by 11:40pm, a father and daughter were abducted at Tee in Kufana, Kajuru LG under Kufana chiefdom. Sunday Maiwayo and his daughter,” he stated.

While acknowledging that the spate of attacks in Kajuru has reduced, the lawmaker lamented that killing and kidnapping for ransom were still ongoing in his constituency.

“Even though the spate of attacks have reduced with time. Up till now, kidnapping for ransom and killings are still going on in Kajuru”.

He, however, identified a lack of access road as the major problem in fighting kidnapping in the rural areas.

“We have one serious issue and that is communication and when I talk of communication, I mean access road. These abductions are being carried out in a hinterland where terrain are very rugged, even when you called on the security agencies to go for rescue missions, before they reach there, the bandits have already perpetrated their evil deed and zoom off.”

Stingos also commended the Kaduna State government for its efforts in fighting banditry, while urging it to also focus on constructing access roads.
