The 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa organisers of 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit hosted Africans in Diaspora on 6th January, 2025, at Brooklyn, New York, United States of America.
Key stakeholders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and political leaders across the African continent attended the meeting.
It was a night of class and glamour as African investment and global economic cooperation took centre stage.
The key discussions focused on investment opportunities and economic growth in Africa, as well as how the continent’s leaders can build partnerships with the global community.
Amb Kingsley Amafibe and others unveiled a bold vision for Africa–Western partnerships at the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons of Africa in Diaspora 2026.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Nigerian Ambassador to New York, Amb. Abubakar Jidda stated that it’s about time “we rise to our responsibility as a people, Africa is currently experiencing its share of global economic growth and positioned as the next destination of business hub.”
Amafibe, the convener and project director for Africa, said New York was chosen to position Africa within the heart of global finance and policymaking.
He described the US as a strategic partner capable of aligning capital with Africa’s fast-growing markets to drive shared prosperity.
“Direct Foreign Investment (FDI) is no longer a one-way street of ‘aid’, it is a two-way highway of ‘opportunity,'” Amafibe stated. “When we bring these Peace Icons to the U.S., we are showing American and European investors that Africa is not a risk to be managed, but a market to be entered. This summit is about creating a seamless link where Western capital meets African resilience.”
