At the event in Umuahia, the state capital, yesterday, the wife of the governor, Precillia Otti extolled the wife of the president, Oluremi Tinubu for improving the welfare of women and families across the country.

“The Renewed Hope Initiative so far, has made significant efforts towards making life better and easier for women and families in the country,” said the state first lady.

“Recently, Her Excellency Oluremi Tinubu provided financial grants to 1,000 Abia women petty traders to expand and improve their businesses, support their families, and enhance our local economies.

“I am happy to announce that some have started receiving credit alerts. When you become self-reliant, you can better support yourselves and your communities without government interventions.

“For the beneficiaries, this is the time to fulfill your economic dreams and for those who are yet to benefit, be assured that more initiatives and opportunities are on the way and you will definitely benefit,” she said.

In her remarks at the occasion, the state’s commissioner for women affairs, Maureen Ahukwa noted with delight that the present administration in the state had turned its narrative positively.
