All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has said it believes that the the zoning of principal offices of the 10th Assembly is the discretion and responsibility of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
This may not be unconnected with the press interviews granted by the Aniocha South LGA chairman of the party, Pastor Norbert Sochukwudinma, calling on the national leadership of the APC to zone the office of the Senate President to the South East geopolitical zone.
Mr Valentine Onojeghuo, Delta state APC publicity secretary, in a statement said the views canvassed by Sochukwudinma do not in any way reflect the position of the party in the state on the zoning of principal offices of the 10th Assembly.
The granting of ignorant and unapproved press interviews based on unguided whims is capable of painting the party hierarchy in the state to the national leaders of the party in very poor light. It is therefore unacceptable.
The statements credited to him are personal sentiments anchored on overzealousness and being uninformed. The Delta State APC will not tolerate nor condone such deviant acts of indiscipline from officials of the Party.
“His conveyance of the impression that local government chairmen of the party in the state and other zones are in sympathy with the position he expressed is outright illusion, erroneous and should be discountenanced in its entirety,” Onojeghuo said.
