LEADERSHIP reports that the thugs burnt down the school after a previous clash with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force in the area. The office of the Civilian Joint Task Force, which is located close to the school, was also burnt.

Spokesperson of Bauchi police command, SP Ahmed Wakil disclosed this in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Bauchi over the weekend.

He said during this unrest, members of the Civilian JTF confronted the attackers, resulting in one of the assailants, identified as Saidu Musa, 22, sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest from a locally-made firearm.

Wakil said the Musa was taken to Bauchi Specialists Hospital for medical treatment.

He urged the citizens of Bauchi State to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report any concerns to the relevant authorities.
