They described Buni as a leader whose commitment to the welfare of the people has strengthened the bond between government and citizens.

In his remarks, Governor Buni represented by his Deputy Hon Idi Barde Gubana (Wazin Fune) expressed gratitude to the chairmen and the people of Yobe for their recognition and support reaffirming his administration’s resolve to continue prioritizing grassroots development, emphasizing that local governments remain the closest tier of government to the people that must be developed for better progress.

Buni said, “As you may vividly recall, when we assumed the mantle of leadership of the State on 29th May 2019, we came with lofty intentions to surmount the multiple challenges affecting the State, which had just started to recover from the devastating effects of insurgency.

“Knowing well that the task before us was enormous, we pledged to serve the State to the best of our ability and appealed to all to join hands with us to collectively deliver on our project of improving the people’s wellbeing.

“It may be gratifying for you to note that even at the stage of drafting our manifesto, we carefully identified the challenges facing the state and deeply considered solutions to surmount the obstacles against our socio-economic development,” the governor added.

Buni used the forum and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for what he described as unshakeable commitment to addressing insurgency and other major security threats in the northeast and the country as a whole.

“We will therefore continue to mobilize the people to rally round Mr. President in his onerous task of emancipating the Country from the shackles of poverty, insecurity, and other developmental challenges bedeviling our Nation.”
