About 185,000 residents of Osun State have benefited from N2 billion projects and programmes funded by the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) in the state between November 2022 and January 2023.
The General Manager of the agency in Osun, Mrs Funmi Abokede who disclosed this in Osogbo while featuring on the Osun NUJ Correspondent Chapel personality interview programme tagged ‘News Point’ stated that beneficiaries who consisted of 91,286 males and 94,439 females enjoyed facilities in various sectors that include the provision of potable water, health, sanitation and education facilities and social services.
Abokede revealed that I76 micro-projects that cut across health, education, and sanitation have been completed at different locations across the state and 64 lock-up shops at Atakumosa market in Ilesa.
She further stated that 38 projects were executed in the education sector, 11 under health, 121 under water, 6 under social economic plus 64 lockup shops making 176 micro projects.
Mrs Abokede who commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for his support for the World Bank-supported agency said the governor has ensured the release of counterpart funding of the projects.
The CSDA boss also lauded Osun communities for their resolute determination to assist the government and its agencies to develop their communities noting with satisfaction their commitment to the facilities provided in their communities.
Her words: “We are not relaxing, our agency is working to touch lives of people who are downtrodden, vulnerable, voiceless who would be easily forgotten,” Abokede posited.
