Credible sources said that several of the terrorists were killed while others were captured alive.

Meanwhile, the government of Chad has asked citizens to remain calm following the attempted attack on the country’s presidential palace in N’djamena.

Abderamane Koullamallah, the country’s minister of defence and spokesperson for the Chadian government, assured the entire country that the government was on top of the situation.

The minister made this known shortly after Chadian security personnel repelled the attack by Boko Haram terrorists.

The troops killed an undisclosed number of the terrorists as they marched towards the country’s seat of power, a source who craved anonymity said.

The government assured that the armed forces are on high alert to ensure law and order in the country at the cost of their lives.

“I would like to reassure all Chadians that the situation is under control,” the minister said.
