It was gathered that 28-year-old Dada Jatto, who was a popular bike rider in Iyani-Akoko, was reportedly missing for the past three days.

A source in the area further informed LEADERSHIP that upon the search efforts, his mutilated body and the damaged phone were discovered on Tuesday without his motorbike at a spot very close to Arigidi along Oke-Agbe Road.

Also, the second incident involved a Hausa Okada rider whose assailant was lured into a hideout between Ikare and Arigidi and used a sledgehammer to smash his head.

Before he eventually died at an undisclosed hospital,  he was said to have managed to describe his assailant and the snatcher of his motorbike.

It was, however, gathered that his assailant was arrested by vigilant security agents in the area with the same bike at Akunu Akoko a border town of Kogi state.

Meanwhile, residents of Iyani Akoko’s Northwest Local Government have been thrown into serious mourning over the untimely death of the late Dada Jatto. They described the father of two as a highly diligent and hardworking young man.

The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary in the area.

When contacted via phone call, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed one of the incidents.

Odunlami-Omisanya said, “One of the cases has been reported to us and investigation into it commenced immediately”.
