Two suspects have been arrested for defiling a six-year-old girl and kidnapping a six-year-old boy respectively.

LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that 20-year-old Lukman Aliyu from Ibeto in Magama local government area allegedly defiled the girl in a nearby bush while she was returning from school.

The parents reported the incident at Ibeto Police outstation under Nasko Division and when preliminary search was conducted, stains of blood were found on the girl’s body and her uniform.

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 9.

“The suspect was immediately arrested and he confessed to the crime. The victim was taken to General Hospital Nasko for medical attention and the suspect has been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution,” the PPRO added.

Similarly, the PPRO said, another complaint was received at Tafa Division of the police that a 6-year-old boy was missing from Ungwar-Gwari, Sabon-Wuse Tafa LGA but was found on the same day at Jere area of Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State and was taken to the nearest police station within the area.

According to him the missing boy was later handed over to Tafa Division of Niger State Police Command and during investigation, a neighbour living in the same area in Sabon-Wuse, Genesis Yaryok Sunday (27) from Kafanchan, Kaduna State, was arrested in connection with the incident.

“He confessed that he abducted the boy and took him to an area along Kaduna Road where he kept the boy. He said that he intended to collect N200,000 ransom from the mother of the victim to pay some debts,” he said.
