2 To Die By Hanging For Armed Robbery In Delta

The High Court in Kwale, Delta State, presided over by Hon Justice F.O. Enenmo has sentenced one Bright Ossai and another, Mr Izagwu Obodo to death by hanging for armed robbery.

The first defendant, Mr Bright Ossai, was said to have robbed one Hyacinth Abandy of his motorcycle while armed with a gun at Owessi Street Kwale. He was caught on the spot when Hyacinth raised an alarm.

The police rushed to the scene to rescue the victim and recovered the gun from the robber as the Police recovered another motorcycle he had earlier robbed while armed which he sold to one Mr Ebele Pius, at Ossisa.

Two witnesses testified, while the defendant testified but did not call any witness.

Ossai was sentenced to death by hanging just as Mr Ebele Pius bagged 10 years imprisonment with hard labour or a fine of N500,000.

In another case, the defendant, Izagwu Obodo on August 21, 2021, murdered one Nonso Dibia at Umu Itching by shooting him with a gun.

 

The prosecution led by C. O. Onoberhie-Oberuomo called three witnesses and tendered various exhibits while the defendant testified without calling any witness.

 

Justice Enenmo in his judgement, found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging.
