The Renewed Hope Initiative of the Wife of the President, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has distributed critical agricultural inputs to 200 women and youths in Niger State.
The items distributed included seedlings, fertiliser, pesticides, livestock feeds and other farming equipment to farmers and was flagged off by wife of the Niger State Governor Hajiya Fatima Bago.
The governor’s wife described the initiative as a “planting for the future,” saying that the idea is particularly to empower women and youths whose potential, when unlocked, can transform the agricultural sector and secure the nation’s future.
She said the programme covers diverse areas of agriculture, such as crop farming, livestock production, poultry, and aquaculture.
She emphasised that providing women and youth with the necessary agricultural tools would help them thrive in agriculture, strengthen the food production chain, and build a more inclusive and resilient agricultural economy that will ultimately contribute to national food sufficiency.
The first lady of Niger State appreciated the effort of the founder of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Niger State government and all others who made significant contributions towards making the programme successful.
