Distinguished Senator Rose Oko, representing northern senatorial district of Cross River State in the upper legislative chamber has expressed shock over the death of Hon Mark Ogbeche Ukpo.
Senator Oko who became emotional, quietly said, “l am deeply shocked and saddened over the news of the death of my dear brother and friend.”
She is pained that such an illustrious son of the Yala nation and indeed the entire Cross River State and Nigeria at large is dead at a time his wealth of experience is needed.
She recalled his immense contributions towards the political development of Cross River State, through his participation in the electioneering process as a former member House of Representatives, and governorship and senatorial candidate at various times.
Senator Oko, while remembering his sterling qualities, said he was a disciplined, generous, thorough, courageous and a grassroots politician to be reckoned with. Adding that he was also a respected entrepreneurial businessman, who has distinguished himself in his trade.
She said he will be missed and prayed his soul rest in peace in the bosom of the Lord.
