Chairman of Kwali area council, Joseph Shazin has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the ongoing measles vaccination exercise around the area council.
Speaking with newsmen, at the weekend, Shazin explained that the vaccination team had met with the daily target for vaccination of children from 9 months to 5 years, in all the wards, adding that the turnout was impressive, while parents in the area, responded well to the vaccinationcampaign.
He disclosed that the council had given logistics and moral supports to the health care providers, in addition to the massive campaign on media, which, according to him, are all geared towards making the exercise successful.
The chairman further urged parents to ensure that their wards are immunised, especially now that the country is experiencing a climate change, leading to a rise in temperature.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the vaccination campaign, scheduled from 10th to 22nd February, would cover schools, housing estates, places of worship and all primary health care facilities, to ensure no child is missed.
