As the race to succeed governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State heats up, some stakeholders in the state have tipped Alhaji Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamma as the most perfect and suitable candidate to step into the Gombe governor’s shoes.

Commenting on the front liners in the race to succeed Dankwambo, a People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) stalwart in the state, Alhaji Sani, said of those aspiring to succeed the outgoing governor, Gwamma remains the most outstanding and prospective candidate .

Isiyaku Gwamma who is currently the MD/CEO of Kano Electricity Distribution Company, (KEDCO), according to Alhaji Sani, is not only  politically rooted in the state, but has always identified with the people of Gombe State and hence prospective and easily marketable.

In a chat with LEADERSHIP Weekend, Alhaji Sani said he was optimistic that if given the opportunity and platform by the PDP, Isiyaku Gwamma will deploy his huge wealth of experience in stepping into the large shoes of Dankwambo.

“Isiyaku Gwamma’s very humble lifestyle, distinct leadership style -manifested in positions he has held over the years, populist nature , and inter personal relationships which he has blended with his deep educational and work experience, puts him on a different pedestal that Gombe people appreciate.

“History will remember Governor Dankwambo in a very positive way. In like manner too, we believe that Gwamma if given the opportunity will continue with this vision and pace set by Governor Dankwambo in further bringing developments and growth to the State and the nation in general,” he said.

He called on all PDP stakeholders to rally round Gwamma and support his aspiration.
