UBEC Moves To Develop Social Mobilisation Guide Book For States

Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has begun move to develop a Social Mobilisation Guidebook for use by UBEC and States Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) for smooth run of the system. This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja yesterday by the public relations officer, Mr Ossom Ossom.
According to him, the move was made when UBEC and SUBEB officials, charged with responsibility for managing the social mobilisation processes in basic education institutions converged on Kano for a five-day meeting and training on stakeholder engagement in the delivery of basic education in the country.
He said the meeting involved participants from the 36 States and the FCT and seeks among other things to institutionalise a formidable strategy for mainstreaming social mobilisation into core basic education delivery processes and develop a Social Mobilisation Guidebook for use by UBEC and SUBEBs.
UBEC executive secretary, Dr Hamid Bobboyi who was represented at the opening event by the deputy executive secretary (Services), Dr Yakubu Gambo noted that the success of the UBE programme will depend largely on meaningful stakeholder engagement, participation and support across national, state and LGEA/community levels.
