38-year-old Nkechi Wins Israel’s First Bible Contest

A-38-year-old Nkechinyere Chidi – Mbah has emerged the overall winner of the first National Old Testament Bible Contest organised by the Israel Embassy and Christian United For Israel (CUFI).

The competition which started at the state and zonal ended in Abuja, at the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board. Nkechi emerged winner at the event which had 12 finalists. N

Recounting how she won the competition, Nkechi said she only read her Bible and at the end, she emerged the winner.

“Going to Israel and to experience what I’ve been reading in the Bible is what I will be proud of,” Nkechi said of the promised made by the Israeli government to sponsor her for the 2018 Christian pilgrimage.

The executive secretary, Christian Pilgrims commission, Uja Tor Uja, said they are building partnership with associations working with Israel in Nigeria.

He said Nigeria has the largest Christian confession in the world adding that the contestants showed depth of knowledge of the Bible.

He said the Israeli community is not large in Nigeria because of the war that affected their population adding that they prefer to do their businesses quietly.

“The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims commission will fly the three top winners to Israel for pilgrimage,” Uja said, adding that they are targeting the youth that will build Nigeria like Israel.

On his part, the general overseer, Champion Faith Assembly, Apostle Godspower Udjor, who said he was impressed by the performance of the participants, said the state of Israel made it possible for Nigerians to visit the holy land.

He described the winner as very outstanding adding that there is a great manifestation from the Nigerian youths.
