The Zamfara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dauda Lawal, on Tuesday, attended a North-West Stakeholders’ Strategic and Interactive meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Kano.

The meeting attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and governorship candidates from across the seven North-West States, was chaired by the PDP national chairman, Dr. Iyochia Ayu, alongside PDP presidential standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

In his remark, Atiku expressed hope towards winning the forthcoming elections with the full support of the North-West, identifying the zone as a game changer and a formidable force.

He also reiterated his assurances for inclusivity, especially for women and youths.

“There is a need to have an all-inclusive campaign in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. We must strive hard to ensure that PDP wins elections at all levels across the country.”

Speaking on behalf of the PDP gubernatorial candidates of the North-West, the Kaduna State governorship candidate and chairman of the PDP Governorship Candidates’ Forum, Isa Mohammed Ashiru Kudan, remarked that it was a golden opportunity provided by the PDP presidential candidate to have an interactive session with them on the way forward towards the 2023 elections.

“We need to go back to our respective States and work effortlessly for the success of the party at all levels,” Kudan said.

Also, while addressing journalists after the meeting, the Zamfara State PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Dauda Lawal, said the event had provided an opportunity for the presidential candidate to meet with the party leaders, stakeholders, and gubernatorial candidates from the seven Northwestern States.

Lawal expressed the hope that the North-West would give the PDP a comfortable bloc of votes to win the forthcoming general election at the presidential and State levels.

“The whole idea is for our leader and presidential candidate to have a direct interaction with the North-West guber candidates of the PDP so that we will work hard and ensure that the outcome of the 2023 elections will be in our favour,” Dr. Lawal added.

Other top party chieftains in attendance included Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; former Vice President Namadi Sambo; former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido; former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema; former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi, and a host of others.
