Lead Pastor of Good Tidings Bible Church International, Dayo Olutayo has said that for Nigeria to get it right during and after the forthcoming election, there is a need for Nigerians to give peace a chance and ensure that the country is a better place for everyone to live in.

Olutayo who made this call during the Church’s Special Sunday service and the grande finale of the Maranatha convention and 18th Anniversary with the theme: “Hosanna in the highest,” said Nigeria is a few months away from a well-decisive election next year.

According to the cleric, Nigerians have no other nation to call their own, and there is no nation without problems and no family without crises.

“Nigeria’s destiny is great as designed by God, but it is in our hands to make it come to pass. All parties have signed the peace accord and it’s expected they abide by it; debates should be issue-based,” he said.

He appealed to all Nigerians to exercise their franchise during the forthcoming election, adding that their choice is in their hands, and instead of complaining, they should provoke the change they desire.

The clergyman further said that the church would continue to stand in the gap with prayers and intercession for the nation to experience a turnaround.

Also, the guest speaker of the service, Apostle Lawrence Oyetunji of Christ Ambassador International Christian Centre in Dublin commended Nigerians for being steadfast, adding that Nigeria would experience a turnaround and be great again.

“The level of progress made by the present administration is commendable, many people won’t understand, many nations are having economic crises, Nigeria has done relatively well, especially on her economy. If you have been out of the country, you will understand what I am saying,

“Nigeria leaders should tackle issues of porous borders and unemployment rate. God is with Nigerians and the country. Nigeria will be a place of tourism and investments; nations will still come to partner with the country. Every great nation went through toughness to be great and Nigeria is not an exception,” he said.

Editor-in-Chief of LEADERSHIP Group Limited, Mr Azu Ishiekwene,  while speaking at the convention, said the duty of the church is a call to righteousness, to service, and a call to stand and speak up for the truth, adding that that is what the country requires from the church much more than before.

Earlier the special adviser media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina,  said Nigerians need to ensure that righteousness was enthroned for positive change.
