Following the violent attack on some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Idanre local government, a member of the House of Representatives representing Idanre/ Ifedore federal constituency, Tajudeen Adefisoye, and PDP candidate, Festus Akingbaso have continued to trade words.

The PDP and its candidate accused Adefisoye who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) of unleashing fake soldiers and attacks on the community.

Adefisoye however accused the PDP’s candidate of attempting to assassinate him ahead of the forthcoming election.

The lawmaker alleged that his main challenger, Akingbaso made an attempt on his life and he escaped an assassin’s bullet by the whiskers on Sunday during a political rally in Idanre.

However, the PDP and its candidate Akingbaso said it was APC’s candidate that has been terrorizing the people of Idanre and made an attempt on the lives of the supporters of the PDP in the community.

The PDP alleged that the federal lawmaker has a mobile armory that he moved about and made use of at any point in time.

The party in a statement by its Director of Media, Fasoranti Adeyemi said “for clarity, the party called on the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure to investigate the men in Army uniform who attacked and destroyed shops in Idanre on Monday evening.

“Idanre town was under siege on Monday evening as some men in Nigeria Army uniforms stormed the town and allegedly destroyed some shops where Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members were holding a meeting.”

Adeyemi alleged that the APC thugs on the instruction of Adefisoye began to attack the PDP members unprovoked and many people were injured in the process while the shop was destroyed.
