Following the arrival of the final batch of 312 Kwara’s pilgrims, the 2024 hajj operation has been successfully concluded in the state.
The contingent, including the Amirul-Hajj, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe, and other state officials, arrived safely at the Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin on Tuesday.
The Amirul- Hajj, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful completion of the exercise.
He also acknowledged the unwavering support from the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,which he noted contributed to the smoothness of the entire process.
He acknowledged the cooperation of the Prof Mashood Jimba-led Kwara State Pilgrims Welfare Board, NAHCON staff and aviation agencies in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Oloriegbe advised the returnee pilgrims to make the most of the spiritual enlightenment provided by the journey and refrain from engaging in any activities that could compromise their yajj or question the integrity of their new found status.
The chairman of the State Pilgrims Board, Prof. Mashood Jimba expressed appreciation to the state governor for appointing Oloriegbe as the Amirul-Hajj.
Jimba assured that the board will continue to capitalize on this momentum and apply the lessons learnt in preparation for future operations.
