A member of the House of Representatives for Ovia Federal Constituency, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has said his decision to join the Edo State governorship race is to redirect the state on the path of prosperity and also to enthrone good governance.
Idahosa, who stated this while answering questions from newsmen in Benin yesterday, said he would be making a formal declaration on Friday at the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin.
The lawmaker said he would count on the support of the people to make this happen.
He bemoaned the present state of things across the state and asserted that he was well equipped to navigate the state for growth and development.
He said that the potentials of the state will be harnessed to steer the state and its citizens to prosperity.
According to him, “we are not just coming to increase the number of aspirants, we have a well thought out blueprint that will positively impact on the economy, infrastructure, social, sports and agricultural sectors of our dear state.
“We are also not losing our sights on the health sector as we will work assiduously to improve on all critical areas that will make the sector accessible and affordable to our people.
“In essence, our administration will signpost positive change in all ramifications and ultimately improve on the living condition of our people.”
On the challenges of insecurity, Idahosa said he will work with all stakeholders; security agencies and the traditional institutions to arrest the menace of armed robbery and kidnapping that have prevented the people from going to their farms and sons and daughters of the state from coming home.
