Yobe State Pilgrims Commission has intensified preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise and urged intending pilgrims to submit their international passports early to enable timely visa processing.

The executive chairman of the commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, gave the order during a meeting at his office. He said the arrangements for the 2026 Hajj visa process were in progress.

Usman said the early submission of passports would help check delays and ensure a hitch-free exercise.

According to him, “the deadline for passport submission is fast approaching, and pilgrims who are yet to comply are advised to do so without further delay, as timely documentation remains critical to successful participation in the hajj.”

He added that the 2026 Hajj visa would be linked to pilgrims’ medical certificates and the Nusuk platform, in line with Saudi Arabian Hajj regulations, making accuracy and early completion of requirements essential.

Usman advised intending pilgrims to remain committed to enlightenment programmes organised by the commission, noting that the sessions were designed to educate pilgrims on Hajj rites, rules and proper conduct.

He said regular attendance at the programmes would enhance pilgrims’ understanding and contribute to a smooth and spiritually rewarding hajj experience.
