A two-term serving federal lawmaker, representing Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State Hon Leke Joseph Abejide, has declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu re-election ahead of 2027.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, by his special adviser on Public Communication, Bashiru Abdul Mohammed, describing the just concluded by-elections in 16 constituencies across 12 states of the federation, as a crucial test of the Coalition (N-ADC) party’s faith, acceptability, and popularity, to wielding power at the centre come 2027 general election, without a collaborative efforts of Abejide, the national leader of the party.
He said ”The by-elections, which was conducted on Saturday 16th of August, 2025 was not only a litmus test, but has shown the coalition frontiers and crusaders inability, lack of political will and blueprint as well as support base to cruising to victory in 2027 without Abejide’s influence.”
Abejide, a serving two-term federal lawmaker, representing Yagba Federal Constituency, his highest-ranking member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the ADC, has umpteenth times called for the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 election, following the unpreparedness, buoyancy and fitness level of their party to winning presidential election at the moment.
This statement of fact from the lawmaker, generated some ambivalences, but was validated in the just concluded by-elections, he said.”
According to him, Abejide is not only the national leader of the ADC, but a strong support system and a lover of growth for the party, who has envisaged and projected the benefits of unanimously rallying round the endorsement of President Bola, as it will build the party’s structure and visibility to fielding a presidential candidate in 2031.
The outcome of the recent by-elections which was closely watched by political analysts, party loyalists, and voters alike, provided valuable insights into the party’s strength and popularity without Abejide’s identification.
“The coalition will need to demonstrate abilities to mobilize support, producing articulate and compelling messages towards drumming support for President Bola’s reelection, and to boast the party’s 2031 chances, Bashiru added”.
