The Northern Christian Youth Forum (NCYF) has hailed President Bola Tinubu for acknowledging the loyalty of Vice President Kashim Shettima and for standing by him despite calls from some quarters to drop him ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued by its President, Rev. Pinot Atuluku, the forum expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, stressing that Shettima has remained a unifying figure in the North and a symbol of inclusiveness across religious lines.
The group pledged to mobilise 20 million votes from Northern Christians for President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections as a show of support for his decision to retain Shettima as his deputy.
According to the NCYF, the Vice President has played significant roles in promoting peace and harmony in the region through strategic interventions that ensure Christians are not sidelined in governance.
Rev. Atuluku noted that Shettima’s leadership has carried all groups along, regardless of faith, describing him as “the most senior political leader from the North who embodies fairness and inclusivity.”
