A coalition of Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri political and business leaders has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, with the formal launch of the Ijaws, Urhobos, and Itsekiris 4 Tinubu 2027 Organisation.

Spearheaded by Warri-born business mogul Chief Anthony Prest Tosan, the group aims to rally support for Tinubu across the three ethnic groups, highlighting his administration’s policies and economic vision.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Tosan, who also serves as the chairman and national coordinator of the organisation, described Tinubu’s leadership as a “bloodless revolution” aimed at liberating Nigeria from economic and political dependence on foreign powers.

“President Tinubu is committed to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. His leadership represents a beacon of hope for a future where Nigeria can truly achieve self-determination and prosperity,” Tosan stated.

He noted that the Tinubu administration has made significant progress in economic reforms, infrastructure development, and governance, citing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a transformative project that will unlock economic opportunities across the country.

The group also applauded the recent Supreme Court ruling granting financial autonomy to local governments, describing it as a “game-changer” that will promote grassroots development and reduce the influence of state governors in controlling federal allocations.

“This administration is proving that Nigeria can thrive independently, free from external economic pressures. Tinubu’s policies are not just stabilising the economy but positioning Nigeria as a self-sufficient nation,” Tosan added.

The Ijaws, Urhobos, and Itsekiris 4 Tinubu 2027 Organisation plans to embark on a series of sensitisation campaigns to mobilise support for Tinubu’s second term, particularly in the Niger Delta region.

Tosan urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration, emphasising that “meaningful progress takes time” and that the country is on a steady path toward economic recovery and national prosperity.
