The Matawalle Political Movement, MPM, has congratulated five prominent sons of Zamfara State over their inclusion in the 2027 Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement issued on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, the group said the appointments have placed Zamfara State in an enviable position ahead of the general elections.

The movement, on behalf of the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON, expressed gratitude to God and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Zamfara indigenes into key positions in the campaign structure.

According to the statement, Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto, was named Director-General of the Campaign Council, while Dr. Bello Matawalle was appointed Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence.

Governor Dauda Lawal was also named to the Stakeholders Mobilization Committee, while former governors Ahmad Sani Yerima and Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi were included in the council.

“Having secured an overwhelming vote for the president in the last election three years ago, and with the cream of influential personalities on the campaign council, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is surely on his way to a second term,” the statement said.

The group recalled that as North West Campaign Coordinator in 2023, Matawalle played a key role in delivering the region for President Tinubu.

“We, therefore, wish to congratulate all the new members and assure the president that while serving as the state’s ambassadors in the council, they will not fail in delivering the president and the APC in the coming general elections,” it added.

The MPM wished the appointees success in their new assignments.
