Comrade Emeka Nkwoala (JP) has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for the 2027 Delta State governorship election, following the party’s congress held in Asaba under the supervision of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking after his emergence, the ZLP candidate said his administration, if elected, would work closely with the party’s National Assembly and House of Assembly candidates to achieve its development objectives for the state.
Nkwoala expressed confidence that his experience and leadership within the party would position him to defeat the incumbent governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, in the 2027 election.
According to him, although Governor Oborevwori had performed creditably in infrastructure development, particularly through projects being executed by Julius Berger, the ZLP had developed strategic plans to outperform the current administration.
“No doubt, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has performed well in infrastructural delivery. But considering the resources accruing to the state, I shall do far better because unlike him, I have no godfather but I have God as a Father,” he said.
He also stated that the party’s House of Assembly candidate, Sir Aghogho Green Meretin, a former Majority Leader of Ethiope West Local Government Area, would support the administration in ensuring effective legislative governance.
Nkwoala further pledged that the party would prioritise free education, improved healthcare delivery and massive road infrastructure development across the state if voted into office.
According to him, the proposed free education policy would help secure the future of younger generations, while improved healthcare services would enhance the wellbeing of residents across Delta State
