Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has declared that no opposition can stop the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in the South-East region.

Governor Nwifuru called on the opposition coalition to close ranks and support Tinubu’s 2027 presidential ambition for a better and prosperous Nigeria.

He maintained that the president on assumption of office took decisive steps to boost the economy, among other reforms, insisting that “no amount of coalition can derail God’s purpose of Tinubu winning the election, come 2027.”

Nwifuru described Tinubu’s presidency as divinely orchestrated, given his victory at the polls in 2023 and the achievements so far recorded under his leadership.

The Ebonyi State governor stated this during the All Progressive Congress (APC) zonal stakeholders’ meeting held at the International Conference Centre in Abakaliki, the state capital.

He appealed to the people of South-East to remain supportive of the President, stressing that his administration has initiated policies and programmes that have direct impact on the lives of the people.

The governor further maintained that opposition was necessary to enable any administration perform optimally, but however, stated that such opposition should be objective and devoid of parochial interests.

“God chose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be president of Nigeria contrary to the wishes and expectations of the opposition in 2023. God ignored others who contested on religious sentiments because God sees the heart of everybody, that is why He brought Tinubu.

“Let me assure the people that no one is disturbed by the coalition. No opposition is well prepared more than our President. We need someone who can take bold decisions. President Tinubu has such capacity.

“Our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is at home in Ebonyi State, and we must be tolerant to divergent views and opinions and join Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed and complete his tenure,” the governor said.

Nwifuru further commended the zonal leaders of the party for working tirelessly to sustain the country’s democracy. “Anytime I see party executives, I know these are the people that work for the people.

“We must strengthen internal democracy of the party by ensuring inclusivity. This is because it is wrong to impose a candidate during any election”, he admonished.

The State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Emegha, said the party would continue to conquer new grounds to win over all opposition members.

Speaking on the essence of the meeting, the party’s Zonal Chairman, Dr Ijeoma Arodiogbu explained that it was a forum for consultation with stakeholders and executives across various wards and zones towards ascertaining the strength and weakness of the party.

He commended Nwifuru for his excellent leadership outcomes in the state, adding that the Governor’s support for the party was so glaring.

“I am not surprised with what is happening because the Governor of the state is very supportive of the party. Additionally, we are here to tell you that Ebonyi is doing well in governance. What the Governor is doing is good. I drove around last night and I saw a beautiful city,” Arodiogbu said.
