2027: North Central Will Deliver Landslide Victory for Tinubu – APC Scribe

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that the entire North Central geopolitical zone is now firmly under its control and will deliver a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The party’s Zonal Secretary for the North Central, Hon. Adamu Mohammed Yakubu, made this known in an interview with LEADERSHIP, outlining three key priorities ahead of the next poll.

He attributed the party’s renewed confidence to the recent defection of the Plateau State governor, who has now joined the ruling party.

“Looking at previous elections, we had issues only in the FCT and Plateau State. We won Kwara, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Benue.

“Now, we are fortunate that the Plateau State governor has completed his consultations and decided to align with the centre; he has decamped to our party. So now, the entire North Central is APC,” he said.

Yakubu disclosed that the party is not aiming for the bare minimum of 25 per cent of votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) this time, but a complete rout of the opposition.

“In the FCT, you can attest that the minister has improved development. That alone will boost our support. However, we want him to improve workers’ welfare and ensure that political dividends reach all 62 wards in the FCT.

“This time, we are not aiming for just a 25 per cent victory for the President. We want a landslide victory that will make the FCT the sixth state of the zone,” Yakubu stated.

When asked about the party’s biggest achievements and challenges since its inception, the Zonal Secretary pointed to the APC’s unbroken winning streak in Niger State, the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara, and a seamless transition in Kogi from Yahaya Bello to Governor Usman Ododo.

He identified Plateau State as the primary challenge, which he said the party is now well-positioned to resolve, especially with the National Chairman hailing from the state.

On the twin national concerns of hunger and insecurity, Yakubu urged Nigerians to see current hardships as temporary pains of necessary reform.

“The President is doing his best, disbursing funds to governors who are also working hard. The concerns about hunger and insecurity stem from accumulated problems that cannot be resolved overnight.

“It is like fixing a dislocation; you feel pain during the process. These are the pains we feel now. But with ongoing reforms, the President will secure even more votes from the North Central than before,” he said.

Dismissing the threat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has been attempting to build a formidable coalition in the FCT, the zonal secretary was blunt:

“We would be worried if they could organise themselves and challenge us. But their challenge is even greater than winning an election; they are failing to even organise a party.

“They lack cohesion and have different ideologies. Until they have a solid platform, they are not a challenge to us,” he said.

Yakubu concluded with a sweeping promise of total votes from the North Central for President Tinubu in 2027, expressing confidence that ongoing engagements with governors and the federal government would reduce security challenges well before the election season.

“The entire North Central will vote for President Tinubu en masse,” he vowed.
