The son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Olujuwon Obasanjo, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, joining the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as special adviser on political affairs.
Olujuwon made the declaration on Wednesday during a visit to the movement’s headquarters in Abuja, where he was received by its national coordinator, Sunday Adekanbi.
He described his appointment as an honour and pledged to contribute to the movement’s mobilisation efforts to secure another term for Tinubu.
Olujuwon said he believed the president had made a good start, and urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the administration’s reforms and ensure continuity in governance.
He cited salary payments, infrastructure development and investment opportunities as areas in which the country had made progress, arguing that these gains should be sustained.
According to him, continued support for Tinubu would give the administration an opportunity to build on its achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
Olujuwon, who said he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2014, added that members of his family were free to hold different political views and pursue their political interests without animosity.
He also commended the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for its grassroots mobilisation, community outreach and efforts to promote the Tinubu administration’s activities.
Earlier, Adekanbi described the new appointee as an experienced political figure whose background in leadership and governance would strengthen the organisation’s mobilisation efforts.
He said Olujuwon’s experience and understanding of political mobilisation would help advance the movement’s objectives across the country.
Adekanbi said the organisation was delighted to have him on board and expected him to contribute his knowledge and experience to its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
