The Sokoto State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Aliyu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 elections.
This comes as the party inaugurated its e-registration committee at the party’s head office in Sokoto yesterday.
Addressing members of the party before the inauguration, the state party chairman, Isa Sadiq Achida, said the e-registration exercise does not only confirm one’s membership but also grants legal right to members to seek any elective position in the party.
Achida appealed to the committees to ensure adequate sensitisation and mobilisation towards ensuring huge success of the exercise.
He said they want to ensure that Sokoto is rated amongst the highest with APC members across the federation at the end of the day.
While noting that the current political development in the state has shown that Sokoto is tilting towards a one party state, Achida said, “any other opposition party is just a ghost that does not exist in Sokoto now”.
On why President Tinubu and Governor Aliyu deserved a second term in office, Achida said the current state of development witnessed at the state and federal levels are enough testament.
Achida further reassured that members of the state APC e-registration committee are people with proven track records of integrity, service delivery, honesty and dedication to assigned responsibilities.
The inaugurated committee includes that of State Main Committee, Senatorial Monitoring Committees, as well as the Publicity and Mobilisation Committee.
The State Monitoring Committee is to be chaired by the state APC chairman, Sadiq Isa Achida, while Dr. Yakubu Maccido will serve as secretary.
Alhaji Yahaya Buhari is to serve as the chairman Sokoto North Senatorial District and Barrister Bashir Jodi as secretary.
Yusuf Maccido will serve as chairman, Sokoto East Senatorial District, with Barrister Bashir Gobir as secretary and Haruna Abbas serving as chairman Sokoto South Senatorial District with Ibrahim Suleiman as Secretary.
Others in the committee include Sambo Bello Danchadi as chairman, Publicity and Mobilisation Committee, while Bashar Abubakar will serve as Secretary.
