Operators of tricycles and motorcycles under the United Keke and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria have declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, saying their over 50 million members will vote massively for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in the 2027 presidential election.

The group made its position known at a stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja organised in support of the Tinubu-Shettima 2027 ticket.

The event was attended by the Director-General of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA), Prof. Olusegun Omoniyi Ige; the Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Otunba Biodun Ajiboye; government officials and transport operators.

The association said its membership strength, drawn from keke and motorcycle operators across the country, gives it a significant grassroots presence capable of mobilising support for the administration.

Speaking at the gathering, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Transportation and Mobility, Prince Adetokunbo Ademola Ade-John, said the administration’s economic reforms were designed to stimulate growth, create opportunities and improve the standard of living of Nigerians.

Ade-John assured the operators of President Tinubu’s commitment to initiatives aimed at transforming the transport sector, including plans to support operators with CNG-powered and electric tricycles.

Also speaking, the President of the United Keke Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria and Partners, Amb. Aisha Mousa Lawal, said ongoing infrastructure development was opening up new opportunities and stimulating economic activities at the grassroots.
